At least 844 cases of sexual assault against minors were recorded in Punjab during the first 7 months of 2018, a police report revealed.
Express News reported that the number of victims has greatly soared while on average, 4 minors were subjected to sexual assault during the 7 months.
Pertaining to the increase in sexual assault cases against minors, Punjab inspector-general (IG) had issued a notification directing to arrest all involved in such gruesome practices.
However, no concrete success has been achieved yet as the security forces have failed to arrest the culprits.
