ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday will issue electoral symbols to contesting candidates.
According to the commission, a final list of candidates was finalized on Friday, after the deadline of submission of party tickets and withdrawal of nomination papers.
Earlier on Thursday the revised list of candidates after appellate tribunal’s appeals was published.
The tribunals heard and decided on the rejection appeals on June 27. A total of 21 appellate tribunals were established all across the country for accepting or rejecting nomination papers of candidates.
The election process of scrutinization of the nomination papers was started on June 4 and a list of nominated candidates was compiled and published on June 11.
ECP officials have asserted that the elections will be held on the scheduled date with transparency.
Earlier ECP had issued a revised schedule for the upcoming general elections that are scheduled to be held on July 25.
