ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Friday that PML-N would not form any alliance in the upcoming Azad Kashmir election and field its candidates in all constituencies of the Legislative Assembly.
He was addressing a reception given at Darbar-e-Aaliya Basahan Sharif by the Sajjada Nashin Pir Ali Raza Shah, who is also PML-N Vice President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The minister said hopefully PML-N would win the election, therefore it does not need to form any alliance or make seat adjustment with other political parties. He said the party has decided to field its candidates on all seats of the AJK assembly. Talking about Sufi saints and their dargah, he said one gets purity of heart and mind at these places.
The minister dargahs of the Sufi saints promoted unity and unison among the people. He wondered from where the people with suicide jackets came from to target schools, colleges, universities, mosques, seminaries and religious sites. Such elements are enemies of the country and damage its international image, the minister said, adding that the Pakistan government, armed forces and security agencies have launched a decisive operation against the terrorists resultantly the terror incidents have declined considerably.
Separately, Sardar Ibrar Ahmed Khan leader of Muslim Conference (MC) and nephew of former AJK president Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan joined PML-N on Friday. Addressing the ceremony organised in honour of Sardar Ibrar, chief guest PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq welcomed him warmly in the party. Haq said that after joining of Sardar Ibrar, the PML-N would be further strengthened in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said it was a big setback for Muslim Conference in Kashmir. “PML-N has always raised its voice for the rights of Kashmiri people and would continue its struggle for them,” he added.
Also, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani Friday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was making efforts to make the country peaceful and prosperous as per dreams of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said there was a huge difference between the current situation of the country as compared to 2013’s Pakistan. Kirmani expressed the hope that PML-N would clean sweep the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, adding that some politicians of AJK who were used to speaking against the PML-N and its leadership have realised that the PML-N would get majority in the elections. He expressed these views while addressing a reception given at Darbar-e-Aaliya Basahan Sharif.
